Dear Music Fan,

Greetings One and All! Well we've had sun, snow, sleet, yellow, gray, white and wind as well! And we've had signs of spring too. So maybe spring will come soon. It's a season that let's us go out and do the things we like with greater ease, including going to hear live music. In the meanwhile we have a nice weekend approaching, I hear. TONIGHT, THURSDAY MARCH 4, 2010,,,,,..

The Beehive, located in Boston's So. End, will host dinner and live jazz from 6:30-8:30. Later on, Grand Fatilla will play from 10:00-2:00.

Starchild will play at The Acton Jazz Cafe (Acton, MA) from 6:30-7:45. The AJC Blues Jam will follow, from 8:00-midnight. There will be a $5.00 cover charge.

Back in Cambridge, Dietrich Strause will play at Toad (directly across from the Porter Sq. MBTA Station) from 7:00-9:00. Greg Klyma will play from 10:00-1:00.

Sarah Borges and The Broken Singles will open for Chuck Prophet at The Iron Horse Music Hall (20 Center St., Northampton, MA) at 7:00. www.NBOtickets.com.

Slippery Sneakers will play a little zydecho for you at Ryles Uptown Jazz Club (Inman Sq., Cambridge) from 7:30-10:00. Dancing is encouraged and there will be zydecho dance lessons offered from 7:00-7:30. Following, from 10:00-1:00, DJ Latino will spin salsa, merengue and bachata, as you dance the night away. La Prestige will play at Bull McCabe's (366 Somerville Ave., Union Sq., Somerville) from 6:00-9:00. Sambalolo will play from 9:00-midnight.

The Beehive (So. End) holds their Saturday Jazz Brunch from 10:30-3:00, featuring live jazz for your listening and dining pleasure. Also, stay tuned for The Beehive's Dinner Jazz Set, from 6:30-8:30. Deva Mehal will follow from 10:00-2:00.

Lucky's Lounge (355 Congress St., Boston) offers their Sinatra Brunch every sat.-sun. from 10:00-3:00, with music from 11:00-2:00. Please call for reservations or visit opentables.com. Every sat. and sun. evening The Al Vega Trio are your hosts, paying tribute to Ole' Blue Eyes at The Sinatra Saturday Dinner, from 7:00-10:00, with dinner served until 11:00.

Ryles Uptown Jazz Club puts on a weekly jazz brunch from 10:00-3:00 every sunday. This week Patricia Adams and her band, featuring Ray Santisi (piano), will play for your listening and dining pleasure.

The Burren, in Davis Sq., serves brunch on sundays, also from 10:00-3:00, with music by The Gannon Family. On sunday evenings Tim Gearan hosts The Americana Session in the front room from 7:00-11:00, while The Singer/Songwriter Series takes place in the back room from 8:00-10:00.

The Beehive, in Boston's So. End offers a sunday jazz brunch , with live jazz, from 10:30-3:00. This sunday evening stay tuned for Soul Sunday, with This is Boston Soul, from 8:00-midnight.

Lucky's Lounge (Boston) hosts their Sinatra Brunch every sat.-sun. from 11:00-2:00. Please call for reservations or visit opentables.com. Every sat.-sun. evening The Al Vega Trio host Lucky's Sinatra Dinner from 7:00-10:00, with dinner served until 11:00.

On sundays The Java Room (14 Littleton Rd., Chelmsford, MA) puts on a jazz brunch from 11:00-1:00, with music by Michael P. Chasse and Friends.

The British Beer Company (85 Providence Highway, Walpole, MA) has started up their Sunday Blues Brunch again, with Bluesman, Racky Thomas. It all begins at 1:00.

Bull McCabe's (366 Somerville Ave., Union Sq., Somerville) will present The Disappearing Man (John Sand) from 2:00-5:00. Digney Fignus will follow, playing from 8:00-11:00.

"Sunday Spins" takes place every sunday at Toad from 3:00-8:00. Sign-up early and you will get 3 spins a turn. The Elastic Waste band will play from 9:00-midnight.

Paul Combs and The Big Pocket Band will play at The Amazing Things Arts Center (160 Hollis St., Framingham, MA) at 3:00.

Jazz at Sallys will take place at Sally O'Briens (Union Sq., Somerville), featuring, Mike Leavey and The Strange Cat People, from 4:00-7:00. The Amber Casares Band will play from 8:00-11:00.

The Sunset Jazz Jam takes place every sunday at The Acton Jazz Cafe (Great Rd., Acton, MA) from 4:00-7:00. There is a $5.00 cover. The Starlight Jazz Jam takes place from 8:00-10:30.

Frank Drake and The Aristocrats will play at The Plough 'N Stars from 5:00-7:00. The Frank Morey Band will play from 9:00-midnight.

Bluegrass Night takes place at The Cantab on tuesdays from 8:00-1:00. The opening act will be The Dixie Butterhounds this tuesday at 8:30. The featured act will be Chasing Blue at 10:00.

Josh Buckley and Brendan Hogan will play at Toad from 8:00-9:30. Samantha Farrell and The Love Society will play from 10:00-1:00.
